To bolster sales of Play Store content amongst Indian Android users, Google today announced the arrival of Play Store prepaid vouchers. The vouchers start from a minimum Rs. 500 denomination (also available in Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 1,500) and effectively eliminate the need to add a credit or a debit card to purchase content from the Play Store.
The voucher after redemption, will allow users to purchase apps, games, books, movies. The balance can also be used to rent the movies.
Prepaid vouchers will be available at select stores of Vijay Sales and Spice Hotspot in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata & Jaipur.
