Sorry, folks, WWDC 2016 has come to pass without sight or sound of theApple Watch 2 – boo.
There is good news though, your existing Apple Watch is getting a serious upgrade thanks to the newly unveiled watchOS 3 operating system.
Bringing a mass of new features to the company’s debut wearable, the watchOS 3 update will let you launch apps on your wrist more quickly, write your own message replies out with your finger on the wearable’s display, and even switch up between your favourite watch faces more easily.
That’s not where the Apple Watch updates end either – new, competitive Activity Sharing – which lets you pit your fitness goals against your friends’ – will drop alongside an emergency services-calling SOS feature and, most importantly, a Minnie Mouse watch face to go alongside the existing Mickey Mouse offering.
Although the watchOS 3 update is dropping for developers today (June 13), us commoners will have to wait.
The free watchOS 3 upgrade will land for all existing Apple Watch users this autumn.
