Agyness Deyn Has the Cool Girl’s Fall Wardrobe Covered

Call it the power of a signature look, but who would have thought that the mid-aughts’ punky, peroxided catwalk imp would one day send forth a brand so decidedly…grown-up? Enter Title A, the collaborative line from sisters Agyness and Emily Deyn along with Tracy Moore, which launched quietly last year for Fall ’14 and has been picking up speed ever since (aside from the Title A e-shop, the label is also stocked at Net-a-Porter). With a muted palette and a tightly edited array of vintage-y prints, these clothes might seem at first glance a long way from Aggy’s preferred Day-Glo and graphic tees of days gone by. But look closer and it’s a more logical step than you might think—the same winning tension between the boyish (pitch-perfect smoking robes à la Hefner) and the girlish (the Monkey style, a fantastic nipped-waist shirtdress), and the same cool-girl, want-it-now appeal.

Take the new Fall collection: The Los Angeles-based Title A team was thinking about the wide-open spaces of North Dakota and so turned out cowboy shirts, prairie dresses, jumpsuits, plus a handful of sweet cocktail frocks to spare. It appears Agyness possesses the same intuition for whipping up wardrobe staples as she does for putting together her own enviable looks all these years. What’s more, Title A pieces come in a gorgeous array of fabrications, from washed silks to buttery lambskin, with the bulk of them still clocking in well under the $1,000 mark; dresses hover around $350. It’s enough to pit any smart girl against her checking account.
